Hartlepool Secondary School wins Northern Grid award with SUMS Maths on PDA

St Hild's Secondary school has won the 'Personalisation category' in the 2008 Northern Grid Awards. SUMS Maths was a key element of their entry. "The ease with which the children were able to compile a list of the applications they had used made an impression by itself. They were obviously familiar with numerous applications and able to name them and they nominated the following as their best applications:

• Windows Media player (for playing music)
• Sums Online
• The Internet

The inclusion of the second of these – Sums Online – must be an accolade for that product as Maths is not often nominated as a favourite subject. This is a pre-existing PC application newly brought onto the handhelds during this year which has also proved popular elsewhere." -
